“FRIEND OF DOROTHY”
My piece for the Arrested Development themed art show at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles called There’s Always Money In the Banana Stand. It opens this Friday June 29th from 7pm-10pm until July 21st. More information here and here.
18” x 24” four-color screen print on off-white cover 100ct paper.
Printed at Head Light Hotel in Providence RI.
Signed and numbered edition of 50.
Available for purchase at Gallery 1988 and more on sale at my store after the show for $20.
Arrested Development is one of my favorite shows and I’m super psyched to be involved with this tribute. I went with a portrait of Tobias referencing the “Missing Kitty” episode and the whole prison scenario with George Sr. I tried to capture a dumbfounded Tobias expression, and very simply replacing his glasses with handcuffs. This is an obvious nod not only to the shows name and the fact that he was in jail, but the handcuffs on the head (and presumably the shows title) also references the actual medical terminology of arrested development.
